Open Homicide and Suspected Homicide Cases

Devizzio HomicidePam DeVizzio
On Wednesday July 6th, 1988 about 09:45am, Pamela Ann Devizzio, 28, was found deceased on Putnam Road just east of Jacob Drive in a ditch on the side of the road by a passing truck driver who notified the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. She had been reported missing to Saratoga Springs Police by her father, the late Tony Devizzio, when he went to her apartment she shared with another woman at 78 Court Street in Saratoga Springs on July 5th, 1988. He had tried to call her with no answer. She also had not showed for her job at Mangino’s Restaurant. She had been bludgeoned to death primarily in the head. Her body had sustained additional damage from the heat, insects and a dog.
Pam was a waitress at the time working at the Mangino’s Restaurant on State Rt. 9P in Malta. She was a frequent night life person in Saratoga Springs and was regularly affiliated in the group of food/drink service persons who would be out well after hours into the morning. The investigation revealed she was last seen leaving a bar on Caroline Street by herself in the early morning hours of July 5th, 1988. She was believed to have been dead about 30 hours at the time she was found.

 Conley HomicideBetty Conley

  • On July 8, 1993 at about 3:00 AM 37 year old female clerk, Betty Conley, at the Xtra Mart located at 1958 NYS Rt. 67 in the Town of Charlton was found dead with a single gunshot wound to the head. US currency was stolen from the cash register.
  • Initial reports were that a mid-1980’s white sedan, possibly a four- door, with spot rust on the driver door partially covered with primer was parked in the lot. The report further indicated that a white male 6’2”, 30 – 35 years of age, medium build, and clean shaven with blonde shoulder length hair wearing a peach colored tank top was also observed.

Missing Person/Suspicious CircumstancesPeter Lorang

Twenty eight year old Peter Lorang, who resided alone on Cook Road in the Town of Charlton, was reported missing by family members on August 6, 2001. Family members reported that they had not had contact with him since July 31, 2001.

  • It was reported that Lorang’s 1994 Chrysler convertible was missing from the residence and that his dog was at the home without food and water.
  • On August 18, 2001 Lorang’s vehicle was towed from a private parking lot in the City of Albany where it reportedly had been parked for 2-3 days prior to being towed.

Hammond HomicideJennifer Hammond

  • On November 2, 2003 18 year old Jennifer “Moonbeam” Hammond of Littleton Colorado was reported missing by her employer.
  • Hammond, who worked for a magazine sales company, had reportedly last been seen in late August 2003 when she was dropped off at the entrance to the Creek and Pines Trailer Park, located at 885 Middleline Road in the Town of Milton, to solicit magazine sales.
  • Hammond had been staying in an Albany hotel with co-workers and all of her belongings were left there.
  • Hammond had made arrangements for a bus ticket home, the ticket was never picked up and she had no further contact with her family.
  • Human remains, positively identified as Hammond, were found on October 25, 2009 in the Town of Greenfield.

White HomicideChristina White

  • On July 3, 2005, 19 year old Christina White was reported missing having last been seen by family members the evening of June 30, 2005.
  • Witnesses reported seeing White in the area of Geyser Road and Rowland Street walking along the road.
  • On March 10, 2006 human remains, identified as White, were found by a hunter in the Daketown Forest in the Town of Greenfield.
  • There is a strong possibility that the White and Hammond homicides are related.
